What contract machine assembly means at VF
A machine builder hands VF the complete assembly of a machine or a sub-assembly. The work is carried out at the VF facilities in San Vendemiano (Treviso) and Fossalta di Piave (Venezia), to the customer's drawings and specifications. The customer frees up production capacity and shop floor space; VF delivers the machine assembled, wired and tested, ready for shipment or for final acceptance at the customer's site.
This is not VF personnel posted to the customer's site: that is a separate service, described on the mechanical assembly page. Here the machine comes to us.
Two models, depending on who supplies the components
Standard outsourcing
The customer supplies components, fabricated steelwork and bought-out parts. VF receives the material, checks it against the bill of materials, assembles and tests. This suits companies with an established supply chain that want to outsource labour and floor space only.
Full outsourcing
VF also purchases the components against the customer's bill of materials, coordinates supplier deliveries and assembles. The customer has a single point of contact from order to finished machine. The purchasing scope — the whole bill of materials or only certain categories — is defined order by order.

Mechanical and electrical are two divisions of the same group and work in the same building: responsibility never passes between different suppliers.
How an order runs
- 01 Assessment — review of drawings, bill of materials and expected volumes. The model (standard or full) and the electrical scope are defined.
- 02 Planning — lead times, dedicated floor space, purchasing management where applicable.
- 03 Assembly — mechanical assembly, wiring, panel. A VF contact follows the order and keeps the customer updated on progress.
- 04 Testing and delivery — functional tests, documentation, shipment or collection.
Orders can be one-off or ongoing: for series production VF can assign floor space and teams on a permanent basis.

Frequently asked questions about contract machine assembly
Under the standard arrangement the customer supplies the components and VF carries out the assembly. Under full outsourcing VF also handles purchasing against the customer's bill of materials. The choice depends on how much direct control the customer wants to keep over the supply chain.
That is agreed at the start of the order. In some cases VF handles the entire bill of materials; in others the customer keeps strategic purchasing in house and hands the rest to VF.
Yes. Machine-side wiring and the electrical panel are built by VF Elettrica in the same facility. The customer can still choose to supply the panel or to carry out the wiring in house.
VF carries out mechanical and electrical functional testing to the customer's specifications. Final acceptance testing with the customer can take place at VF or at the customer's site after shipment.
Yes. For ongoing orders we assign dedicated floor space and permanent teams, with monthly volumes planned jointly.
A single VF order manager, who coordinates mechanical work, electrical work and any purchasing, and reports progress back to the customer.
